Parade Bloqué (pah-RUD blo-KEY):
A defensive move used to protect one's side from a fouétté
median; it involves bringing the arm tightly against the side
being kicked so that the elbow is supported by the ribs. The head
tilts towards the side being protected so as to add further support
to the blocking arm.
Parade en Opposition
(pah-RUD on oh-poh-zee-SHYON): A
defensive move used to protect one's head from a fouétté
figure; it involves bringing one's glove up to protect one's temple
on the side being kicked, and placing the other glove at the defending
arm's elbow in order to catch the kick.
